We’re often asked why we haven’t expanded? The truth is we’d love to open more spaces—but the roadblocks are real!

Even with our ideal location; right next to over a 5 acre park, great drop off and pick up access, approximately quadruple the amount of on location outdoor space needed, nearly spotless inspection records and highly trained staff; still; over the years, we’ve encountered significant and persistent barriers that make it extremely difficult to increase capacity.

This article offers an insight at larger facilities in BC, with big funding, facing many of the same challenges we’ve faced in our efforts to grow childcare options in our community.

From navigating stringent licensing requirements to the complicated and often inconsistent landscape of childcare funding, the path to expansion is steep. These systemic hurdles make it nearly impossible to develop new spaces while maintaining the high standards required—and ultimately, that limits access for families who need care the most.
